"So what does everyone do for a living?" asked Fahimah as she and a few of the other girls sat in the living room as the large floor-length windows flooded the room with light. "I myself just took a break from my internship with the heart surgery department in Pleasantview."
"How did you decide to go from surgery to modelling?" asked Emmy, the girl with the bright turquoise hair from the distant Strangetown.
"Well they've both been passions of mine for a while now and since I'm twenty-two I don't have very long left to apply for this show so I thought I'd just take the leap and go for it."
Sue started giggling to herself as she stared off into the distance.
"Are you alright there?" asked Emmy.
"I'm a toilet attendant. I travel around the towns taking care of those porcelain beauties and no one ever thanks me for it. I'd rather be a toilet attendant than a surgeon any day! You know what they say about heart surgeons." she laughed.
Fahimah was a little disgruntled. "No I don't, what do they say?"
Sue continued to laugh to herself. "I'm craving a bakewell tart."
A little while later, Aimee and Emma were chatting to each other in the bedroom as they sat on the floor in the corner. "Do you think you see anyone as big competition yet?"
"Hmm.." Emma pondered. "Going by looks I'm going to say Fahimah, Paige and Bronte. They definitely have very versatile looks that are suited for big brand names."
"I kind of agree. I suppose the makeovers will change all of that though."
"I'm dreading my makeover," said Emma. "It's taken me ages to grow my hair this long and get it to the colour I want. They'll probably make me get rid of my piercings too."
"Delosa mail!" Paige ecstatically called out, interrupting everyone's conversation so that they would gather round to read the letter that had been left for everyone.
After Paige had finished reading it out, half the girls wondered what the last sentence could mean, whilst the other half moaned about having to get up and ready so early.
"It couldn't be bridesmaid gowns, that's too simple."
"Maybe there's a twist!"
"It's the first photo shoot, it's going to be easy."
"Some of the girls are worried their hairstyles aren't suited for fancy bridesmaid gowns," said Sue as she sat in the confession room whilst the others were eating dinner. "All I can say to that is a massive 'HA!' because I don't even have any hair. I shaved it all off one day when I was worried about getting chemicals in my golden locks, plus my grandma died when her hair got caught in an aeroplane engine."
